SNOW DAY!!!!!!

It's been a little while since we've updated.... life has been very busy. For those who don't know, my knee is still bothering them, and the doctors decided that my rehab will take longer than my training unit at Benning would allow while waiting for Ranger School, so we went ahead and PCS'd back to Fort Bragg... and I'll go back to Ranger School in a few months when I'm fully healed. Anyways.... we've been busy with packing, moving, unpacking, rearranging..... but now we get a break, because we got a SNOW DAY! (Technically it's more an ice day, but regardless, we just plan to stay around and be lazy). Ally and Morgan (our Niece) had fun playing outside, but I think our new puppy Matty had the most fun... see for yourself.

Ummmm, dad, what is this COLD white stuff?

All tuckered out from running around in the snow.

Our little gymnast

Allyson has been taking gymnastics since she was two. She started out in NC, but has really blossomed as a gymnast in GA. The program and coaches are really great here. She has a great time each week she goes. She looks like she has decent potential if she stays in gymnastics for the long haul. Below are some pics of her in her new leotard Santa brought her. She looks like she is ready for the US olympics already. :)

6th Anniversary

On Sunday, we went to Medieval Times to celebrate our 6th Anniversary. This was our 3rd visit as a couple, and Ally's 1st time. As always, we had a great time. I embarrased Dorothy by having our names announced and then yelling out at the top of my lungs when they did so... "Take it easy, my liege..." was the response. Anyone who knows me knows I love all things Medieval, and Ally just loved "watching the horsies and the knights, and getting the flower from our knight" (Her words) If you've ever been to Medieval Times, you know that when your knight wins an event in the tournament, he awards a flower to someone from his section. Ally got the first flower, and it really made her night! When we got ready to leave, a little boy dressed up as a knight knelt down in front of Ally and said "goodbye, my Princess." Ally has since informed us that she wants to have her birthday at the castle. It was an enjoyable night, and certainly won't be our last visit.

The joys of visiting family....

Well, our time here in NC is almost over. We head back to GA in the morning. We've had fun while we've been here, but as always... things get "fun" when you have two families under one roof. This came almost exclusively in the form of Ally and her cousin Morgan spending half the time playing and the other half fighting... They both love each other dearly, but if one of them has ANYTHING... the other one wants it too. It has been good visiting though. We saw the housing on post where we will be living, and although the house itself is small (typical old school on-post house), the area is great and there is an awesome brand new neighborhood center with tons of ammenities. We took a few pics while we were here, and I thought I'd share a couple of the girls and my mother and father-in-law. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. God Bless, Daniel

Reporting For Duty....

I'd like to think that I'm a pretty "up and up" on the technology kind of guy, but I've been informed that since I am "sans blog", we are behind the times. One of the problems with growing up in, and now having, a family that moves all over is "How on earth do we keep up with everyone?" Facebook helps.... but more on an "individual" level. So, for all the people who complain that they don't get to see enough pictures of us (Mom), or they don't know what's new with us (Lots of people), I'd like to introduce "Home is Where the Army Sends Us...." Fingers crossed, this will be the best way to keep up to date on the constant excitement that seems to surround our crazy but fun life. When I'm away, Dorothy said she will continue to publish pics and keep you up to date on where/what I may be doing... at least the stuff that is unclassified.
